Plastic Surgery A slim, firm, and well-proportioned figure, as well as a young, firm, and harmonious-looking face are key elements in determining our self-esteem and self-assuredness. How we present ourselves to others is not the same if we feel and appear physically pleasing, than if we don’t feel happy or comfortable with how we look. In order to achieve this, Turismedic offers you a variety of procedures in body and facial plastic surgery, which you will be able to use to improve your image and well-being. Facial Surgery
This surgery lasts approximately three to six hours, it is performed with local anesthesia and sedation or general anesthesia, and may be ambulatory or require hospitalization depending on the extent of the surgery and the specific conditions of the patient. Incisions are made at the level of the scalp and around the ear, thus concealing any scars. This surgery is recommended for men and women older than 40 years old with an excess of skin, loss of muscular firmness and/or facial angles, that are healthy and emotionally stable, and whose objective is to noticeably renew/reverse the aging of their face. Neck lifting
This surgery lasts from one to two hours and doesn’t require hospitalization.
Eyebrow lifting – Tail of eyebrow elevation. This surgery provides a fresher and younger appearance to the area around the eyes. The procedure corrects fallen eyebrows, and improves horizontal lines and wrinkles that may make the face look aged, sad, or tired. In an eyebrow lifting the surgeon improves on the esthetic effect that this area has on the general appearance of the face, and it is the indicated surgical procedure for eliminating wrinkles on the forehead and to improve on the positioning and arch of the eyebrows. The surgery is ambulatory, and various methods are used such as endoscopic and temporal. It requires of at least a five-day stay in the city for the patient’s recovery. Eyelid surgery – Blefaroplasty In those cases in which there is an excess amount of skin on the upper eyelids, or pockets of fat in the lower eyelids, it may be necessary to remove them and thus improve on the appearance of tired-looking eyes and make them look younger and fresh-looking. This procedure can be performed in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures (Rhytidoplasty, resurfacing, eyebrow tail elevation, endoscopic frontoplasty, etc.). In this surgery, excess skin is removed. If there are pockets of fat these are redistributed, and muscle is repaired if needed. Scars are hidden in the lid’s natural fold in the case of the upper eyelid, or under the implantation of the lashes in the lower eyelid. The surgery lasts from one to two hours, may be ambulatory, and may be with local or general anesthesia depending on each individual case. Botox
This procedure is ambulatory.
Nose surgery - Rhinoplasty
It is done with general anesthesia, may last from two to four hours depending on the case, and is ambulatory. A minimum of one week’s rest is required for recovery.
Cheekbone implants This procedure allows for a harmonizing of the size of the cheekbones and nose, through an enlargement of the former, thus achieving better defined facial features. Because of this, it is often done at the same time as a rhynoplasty. It is also a good complement to a facial lifting since it provides a stronger rejuvenating effect. This surgery creates a harmonious and well-proportioned facial appearance. The surgery lasts between thirty minutes to one hour, is ambulatory, and can be performed with local anesthesia. Chin implant So that there can be facial harmony, the proper proportion between the facial profile, the size of the lower lip, and the chin is necessary. When such harmony does not exist due to a chin that doesn’t protrude to the same level of the lower lip, a proportionate face is achieved through an implant. The small incision necessary to create the chin pocket in which the implant will be inserted is performed inside the mouth or on the skin under the area of the chin, so as to hide the scar in a natural way. The surgery lasts between 30 minutes to one hour, can be performed with local anesthesia, and is ambulatory. Ear surgery - Otoplasty The ears are also important when trying to achieve a proper facial proportion. In this surgery a pleasing appearance of the ears is accomplished by modifying their shape and size. For example large ears can be considerably reduced, ears that stick out can be corrected, or irregularities of the borders can be fixed, etc. This surgery can be performed with local anesthesia, lasts from 35 minutes to 2 hours, and is ambulatory.
Body Surgery
With this surgery the silhouette of the patient is shaped in order to achieve a harmonious body figure, removing fatty deposits from specific areas such as the abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, buttocks, and arms. The surgeon performs a small incision through which a thin tube is inserted so as to empty out the unwanted accumulation of fat. This surgery can be performed with local anesthesia if it only affects small, localized areas, is ambulatory, and requires at least five days of rest.
Tummy Tuck - Abdominal Lipectomy – Abdominoplasty When the abdomen has an enlarged appearance due to the excess of skin and fat in its medial and lower zones, abdominoplasty eliminates such excesses, also strengthening the muscles in the area and providing a flat abdomen and stylized waist. This surgery lasts between two and five hours depending on the volume of fat and skin to eliminate, and is performed by making an incision on the pubic area to liberate the belly button from its surrounding tissue. The surgery is ambulatory and requires one week’s rest in order to have a proper recovery. Breast Augmentation
The surgery is ambulatory and requires of at least 3 days for a total recovery.
Breast Reduction Breasts that are too large can cause problems related with neck and back pain, skin irritation, breathing difficulties, and also a disproportionate physical appearance. The surgery is ambulatory and has a minimum of one week’s rest before returning to normal activity. Breast Pexia Due to factors such as age, gravity, pregnancy, among others, the breasts may sag and show a flaccid appearance. Breast lifting elevates them and improves their shape, while at the same time providing firmness. When it is too large the size of the areola that surrounds the nipple can also be reduced, and asymmetries that may exist between the two breasts can be corrected. It is very common to perform this surgery by implanting prosthesis to shape the size of the breast, achieving optimal results. With time the surgery’s scar becomes almost imperceptible. Depending on the case, the surgery may last from one to three hours, is performed under general anesthesia, and a night’s hospitalization may be required. Afterwards, forty-eight hours of rest at the hotel will be required for a successful recovery. Gluteal Implants
Gluteal implants of the correct size and shape, which are firm and upright, may produce a discretely alluring and beautiful figure. The surgeon, through a prosthetic silicon implant, shapes the derriere into the desired shape and size, achieving an optimal, natural, and esthetic effect. The incision is made on the lowest part of the back, without leaving any visible scars. The surgery is ambulatory, is generally done with general anesthesia, and the time required for a complete recovery is two weeks.
Gluteal lifting with lipofilling It consists in extracting fatty tissue from some part of the body and then incorporating it in the gluteal zone, while at the same time effecting a liposuction from the zone where the fatty tissue is extracted. The surgeon injects the fat through two very small incisions and then carefully places it in order to achieve the best esthetic effect. It is an ambulatory surgery and the time required for recovery is a minimum of five days.
This surgery provides the patient with a more attractive skin in the leg area, a more stylized contour, and improves esthetic skin deficiencies. According to the case, one can consider separate surgeries for the lifting of the anterior and lateral portions of the thighs. The surgery is ambulatory and requires a minimum recovery time of one week.
