Furthermore, if the patient so requires, he/she can have psychological assistance before and after the procedure to achieve comfort and tranquility.

As an optional plan, for those patients that wish to make the most of their stay and enjoy the sights in Bogotá and other cities, tourist assistance will be provided. All these services will be provided with guaranteed best quality and value for our customers.

2. Why should I use Turismedic’s services to program my treatment in Colombia, instead of booking them directly on my own?

3. How can I be sure that the professionals that will treat me are qualified and competent?

4. How will I know what procedure I require and its cost before I travel to Bogotá?

Turismedic will answer all your questions Online through e-mail, where you will be able to indicate those procedures in which you are interested and ask any questions about them, after which an estimate will be sent to you including the cost and days that you will be required to stay in Bogotá for your total recovery.

In order to do this, Turismedic requires you to send photographs, x-rays, certain examinations and other information that may be requested by our customer service representative. Also, you can use as a reference guide the sample quotes for standard packages which are shown on this Web Page, so as to have an initial idea of about how much you wish to invest in yourself.

5. How do I pay for the services that I need?

Once it has been determined that you are eligible/suitable for the surgical treatment that you need, and you have decided to have it done with Turismedic, you must pay 40% of the quote that you were given at least 3 weeks before your trip, and thus ensure a reservation. Afterwards, 1 week before your trip you must pay the remaining 60% in order to cover the totality of your services in Bogotá.

Turismedic will send you via e-mail a general schedule of your stay in the city, including medical appointments, date of your surgery, and other services that you required.

6. What happens if once I am examined in Bogotá, it is determined that I shouldn’t receive the contracted treatment or I simply change my mind about it?

It may happen that once laboratory exams are performed or after having a medical examination, it is decided that due to certain medical conditions of the patient it is not convenient or safe to have the dental or surgical procedure performed. In the same way, it may happen that the patient, once in Bogotá, does not agree with the procedure, or has second thoughts about it. In such cases, you are only responsible for the fees corresponding to services already used, such as laboratory tests, medical appointments, lodging, meals and transportation, and the remaining fees for those services that you haven’t used will be returned to you.

7. What happens if I change my mind about going to Bogotá to have my treatment, and I have already made a reservation or paid it in its totality?

If you have already paid the aforementioned 40% of the estimate as a reservation or have paid it in its entirety and wish to cancel your trip, you will have 1 year in which the sum will be held for you as credit for treatment, as a down-payment and in order to make a new reservation.

Thus, if you make your new trip within 4 months from your payment, the quote will be the same and you will be able to travel to Bogotá to have your treatment.
If you do exceed 4 months after your payment but still are within 1 year, your payment will be able to be used as down payment for a new price quote that will be sent to you when you request it.

The 40% reservation fee will not be returned under any circumstance.
If you have paid the totality of the service and you have not had it performed in more than 1 year, 60% of your payment will be returned to you. (See terms and conditions, clause 7).

8. What happens if I wish to return back to my country earlier than anticipated, or wish to prolong my stay in Colombia?

Turismedic will program the days of lodging requested by you initially and required for a satisfactory recovery, including necessary follow-up consultations and post-operatory care according to each case. Turismedic recommends a minimum of 10 days in Bogotá, when medical/surgical procedures are performed, or in certain dental procedures.

Nonetheless, if you wish to return before the recommended period of recovery, you may do so under your own responsibility and under the recommendation for you to perform the necessary follow-up consultations and post-operatory care in your own country. In these cases an amount of money proportional to the days that were not used in Bogota will be returned to you.

If you wish to extend your visit to Bogotá, you may do so with a special extension of your Turismedic plan, or by receiving tourist guidance to enjoy some of the other cities in Colombia.

9. Can I obtain insurance in order to cover any eventualities in the procedure or additional procedures that may be required?

In Colombia the possibility of obtaining insurance policies that cover eventualities arising out of a surgical, esthetic or dental treatment is not available. Any additional treatments linked to the surgery and that may be necessary for an optimal result and/or a satisfactory recovery, will be under the financial responsibility of the patient and will be informed to him/her promptly.

Keep in mind that you will be evaluated by an expert and very competent team of professionals in the treatments offered, thus minimizing the risks and the probability of the need of additional treatments.
