How can I be sure that the professionals that will treat me are qualified and competent? Colombia has first-rate professionals, with plenty of international recognition in the fields of medicine and esthetics. You can have a look at the curriculums of the professionals in charge of directing Turismedic’s medical team in order to verify their education, competitiveness, and experience. 4. How will I know what procedure I require and its cost before I travel to Bogotá? Turismedic will answer all your questions Online through e-mail, where you will be able to indicate those procedures in which you are interested and ask any questions about them, after which an estimate will be sent to you including the cost and days that you will be required to stay in Bogotá for your total recovery. 5. How do I pay for the services that I need? Once it has been determined that you are eligible/suitable for the surgical treatment that you need, and you have decided to have it done with Turismedic, you must pay 40% of the quote that you were given at least 3 weeks before your trip, and thus ensure a reservation. Afterwards, 1 week before your trip you must pay the remaining 60% in order to cover the totality of your services in Bogotá. 6. What happens if once I am examined in Bogotá, it is determined that I shouldn’t receive the contracted treatment or I simply change my mind about it? It may happen that once laboratory exams are performed or after having a medical examination, it is decided that due to certain medical conditions of the patient it is not convenient or safe to have the dental or surgical procedure performed. In the same way, it may happen that the patient, once in Bogotá, does not agree with the procedure, or has second thoughts about it. In such cases, you are only responsible for the fees corresponding to services already used, such as laboratory tests, medical appointments, lodging, meals and transportation, and the remaining fees for those services that you haven’t used will be returned to you. 7. What happens if I change my mind about going to Bogotá to have my treatment, and I have already made a reservation or paid it in its totality? If you have already paid the aforementioned 40% of the estimate as a reservation or have paid it in its entirety and wish to cancel your trip, you will have 1 year in which the sum will be held for you as credit for treatment, as a down-payment and in order to make a new reservation. 8. What happens if I wish to return back to my country earlier than anticipated, or wish to prolong my stay in Colombia? Turismedic will program the days of lodging requested by you initially and required for a satisfactory recovery, including necessary follow-up consultations and post-operatory care according to each case. Turismedic recommends a minimum of 10 days in Bogotá, when medical/surgical procedures are performed, or in certain dental procedures. 9. Can I obtain insurance in order to cover any eventualities in the procedure or additional procedures that may be required? In Colombia the possibility of obtaining insurance policies that cover eventualities arising out of a surgical, esthetic or dental treatment is not available. Any additional treatments linked to the surgery and that may be necessary for an optimal result and/or a satisfactory recovery, will be under the financial responsibility of the patient and will be informed to him/her promptly. 10.
